Seems pretty likely that football and will be drastically restructured

The current structure of college football conferences makes no sense given the new economic realities brought on by NIL acceptance. The NCAA would be wise to think strategically about change and get out ahead of the wave. They should hire a strategic consulting firm to forecast the future and recommend a whole new structure. But that won’t happen since all the power is so decentralized and schools have very different points of interest. So instead it will happen haphazardly and chaotically, with some winners - and lots of losers caught in the wake. Tech is a little better positioned than many, but it’s going to take good leadership and politicking to not be one of the losers.
